Who Can Apply:
- The LFMS seeks to honor the life of our beloved moma and Moo- Moo.
- Linda was 16 when her first child was born. By the time she was 20, she had been married twice with three children.
- As one of her four children, life with a single mom wasn’t easy. Most of our childhood, we lived dependent on the welfare system.
- In spite of the many challenges, she gave us a strong foundation – one of love, strength, hope and kindness.
- That is why we have chosen to honor Linda’s memory; acknowledging the struggle and hard choices that come with being a single parent.
- The Linda Fontenot Memorial Scholarship is established to assist single moms who are on the journey to providing a better life for her and her children.
- Any Black/African-American single mother between the ages of 17 and 24 who is currently enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in an accredited college program and has financial need and at least a 3.5 GPA may apply for this scholarship.
