Eligible Nationalities

Open to international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Otago Polytechnic Study Abroad Scholarship 2026, students must:

  1. Be a new international student enrolling full-time in 2026
  2. Be studying at Otago Polytechnic under a Study Abroad agreement with a partner institution
  3. Meet the entry requirements for one of the eligible bachelor’s programs
  4. Remain enrolled as a full-time student (between 45–60 credits per semester)
  5. Not defer studies to 2027 or later

Not Eligible If:

  1. Enrolled part-time or reduce from full-time to part-time
  2. Deferring studies to 2027
  3. Repeating failed courses (no scholarship applies to repeats)
  4. Studying under a pathway program that begins in 2027 or later

Terms & Conditions

  1. Scholarships apply to the first year of study only
  2. Scholarships are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash
  3. If a student fails or withdraws, full tuition fees for failed or future semesters will apply

Application Procedure

There is no separate application process. Once you successfully enroll as a Study Abroad student in 2026 in one of the eligible programs, you’ll automatically be considered for the scholarship.

Otago Polytechnic will issue:

  1. An offer of admission
  2. A scholarship deduction reflected in your fee statement
  3. The remaining tuition fees to be paid
