Doodle for Google Scholarship
The Doodle for Google Scholarship is open to students in kindergarten to 12th grade!
People often ask me when their students should start applying for college scholarships.
Well, how about kindergarten?
The Doodle for Google Scholarship is a fantastic opportunity for creative students, so check out all the details and pass this information along to your kids!
Doodle for Google is an annual art contest open to U.S. students in grades K-12. Students are invited to create their own Google Doodle for the chance to have it featured on Google.com, as well as win a scholarship and a tech package for their school.
HOW IT WORKS
Students may create a Doodle using any visual art medium or materials. However, please note that Doodles will be reviewed and scanned in a two-dimensional (2D) format. If students create a 3-dimensional (3D) Doodle, make sure to take a clear photograph and enter the photograph rather than the original. Consider different mediums of art:
- Paint, pencils, crayons, markers, chalk, pastels, charcoal, oil pastels
- Clay, building blocks, found objects (rocks, paper, plants, etc)
- Digital art
Students submit a doodle that represents the theme, showcasing the famous GOOGLE image we see when using the Google search engine.
Doodles are judged based on:
Artistic merit: Skill in applying the chosen art form, based on age-appropriate technical or expressive qualities.
Creativity: Representation of the contest theme, use of the letters in the Google logo, and uniqueness of approach.
Theme communication: How well the contest theme is expressed in both the artwork and written description.

Doodles are meant to surprise and delight people when they visit Google.com. Past Doodles have celebrated some of the most brilliant, talented, and passionate people throughout history. The Doodle for Google contest offers students K-12 an opportunity to display their own Doodle creativity on Google.com and win some awesome prizes while doing it!

APPLYING GUIDELINES
- Open to students in grades K-12, including homeschooled students and children of U.S. service persons serving abroad
- Parents, teachers, nonprofits, and after-school programs are welcome to enter artwork on behalf of students in K-12.
- Parents and teachers can mail the completed entry form or submit it online as a .png or .jpg file.
- Award Amounts: $10,000 to $45,000more has $50,000 technology package for the winner’s school
- NO financial need requirement
- NO ACT/SAT or GPA is required
- Applications may be submitted online or mailed in
- Deadline: December 3
