How do you address a layoff in your resume? The short answer is: don’t. There’s no need to include any mention or explanation for a layoff in the text of your resume. Cover letters are different, however. In the text of your resume, don’t.
If you work the job briefly without major achievements, you can leave it off your resume because employers understand career gaps better now. However, if you have measurable accomplishments, include them even if the job was short. Highlight results with metrics and keep the tone positive. Avoid mentioning layoffs; focus on the achievements and skills.
