- Marion Jones was a beloved father and grandfather who graduated from Glenville High School in 1972 before serving in the U.S. Navy with distinction.
- Marion went on to become a mechanical engineer after earning his degree from Tri-C. His discipline, service, and passion for learning have always been inspirational. Supporting access to STEM education, especially for students from underrepresented backgrounds, is a powerful way to shape the future and help students follow in Marion’s footsteps.
- This scholarship seeks to support students who plan to pursue degrees in mechanical engineering or related STEM fields.
- Any underrepresented minority high school senior from Cleveland, Ohio, or the surrounding area who’s accepted into a two or four-year college program may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they’re pursuing STEM and if they have demonstrated financial need. However, applicants pursuing mechanical engineering are preferred.
