- Individuals who are thoughtful and think critically are better able to actively work with others to solve problems, regardless of the field they pursue. These students should be encouraged to pursue careers where they can put their skills to use, working to solve social challenges.
- This scholarship seeks to support students who are on a mission to achieve their full potential and make the world a better place through social services.
- Any high school student with at least one parent of Puerto Rican descent who has a 3.0 GPA or higher may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they will be a first-generation college student and if they will pursue a two or four year degree in social work, psychology, sociology, political science, international relations, or criminal justice.
